Existing fusebox requirements for a domestic solar install ?

Background is that my solar install was aborted because the installer decided that my fusebox needed "to be tidied up" and he wasn't prepared to continue the work. Fair enough, but what exactly are the requirements here ?

The fusebox is working fine btw and is all circuit breakers.

Also to what stage did the solar install progress to?

Thanks for your comments. I'll try to get some photos. All kit is installed and wired up, bar connections to/from fusebox.

The general requirement is that it is to be safe, it can be working fine but still a mess/unsafe.

Have they come back to you with a solution yet?

They said to call them when I have replaced the fuseboard.

you can still get the post works BER done to process the grant as there is no onus on the assessor to see it working

Hmmm - that's concerning. You might end up in a catch-22 where you can't get recertified without a rewire, or have the tails upgraded, etc.

They should have seen that in the initial consultation to be honest; I suppose they didn't want to loose you as a customer by pointing that out beforehand, so went on with the solar install anyway. A bit cheeky really.

A photo will tell us where we are roughly at anyway.

Any update on this OP? Curious as I was in a similar situation but the installer put in a separate consumer unit just for the solar install

I replaced the fuse box completely. Now waiting for the installers to come back out and hook me up.
