Planning permission to replace external wall

There is a wall surrounding my property and I was wondering if I would need planning permission to replace this wall with one that is slightly higher and perhaps wider (towards my property).

I would also like to widen the pillars of the entrance. If I move the entrance, I would need planning permission, but I just want to put different pillars in the same place.

What do you think?

The wall belongs to me. The wall is adjacent to the road. I'm still not 100% sure of the height, I'd like to see if there are any standards, but I'm sure it's less than 2 metres, which I think is the limit to get planning permission.

The maximum height you can build at the front without planning is 1.2 metres.

That’s great. So I understand replacing my wall for a 1.2 metres wall wouldn’t need planning permission. What about the pillars/gates columns?

The exemptions dont specifically mention pillars and/or gates but it is normally taken as being the same max. height. See Class 5 of the exemptions here
