Wedding venue suggestions

We are having a hard time finding a wedding venue for our current numbers and day of the week.

As of now our guest list is around 80 - 90 guests, and ideally we want to have the wedding on a Friday or Saturday between April - September. The problem is most venues have a minimum number of 120 - 150 on weekends (some even Thursdays). We also looked at an intimate style wedding but our numbers are then too big for some of these venues, or they can only accommodate us on a weekday.

Are there any suggestions for hotels in the Leinster area for roughly 80 guests, for the usual ceremony, reception, party?

Clontarf Castle definitely caters for smaller numbers, I had about 55 people at my April wedding there on a Saturday.

With those numbers you could also look at booking out a restaurant.

Medley in the city centre is great for smaller numbers. We had our reception there and it was fantastic. They do ceremonies too, brilliant venue.

Thanks for the recommendations, unfortunately, we can't do Medley. It is a gorgeous venue but my sister is having her wedding there later this year, so couldn't do that to her 😅

Will check out Clontarf Castle for sure.

Oh thats too bad. We also looked at The Dean and they were able to accomodate our numbers too. It was a lovely venue and came a close second to Medley, but Medley won out in the end.

    Have you considered a Sunday?

It all depends what your plan is for the next day, but we have 80-90 on a Sunday in March. Everyone has to take a day off for a Friday wedding if there's any kind of travel involved so having the Monday off instead isn't the end of the world, we got a great deal (relatively speaking) on an upmarket venue that insists on 150 on a Friday-Sat April to September.

We've booked a decent space in the bar of a nearby hotel for the night before drinks which should be good craic as its a saturday night, then we'll trundle to the venue the next morning to get ready etc.

Most of the day 2s we've been to have been a massive anticlimax so we're doing a spa break with some close friends and family instead and have put the details on the invite in case anyone else wants to join, but we're not expecting many takers.

Try the Shoreline hotel in Donabate. Lovely hotel beside the beach with great views. We had 90 at our wedding.
