jesus thats great to know, ive spoken to a fella that use to dabble in this kinna stuff, he gave up years ago, modern tech was just making it too hard, specialised equipment needed, and virtually impossible to fix individual components on boards....

Its amazing this day and age to hear about TV repairs, people normally just buy a new one, id be surprised if many people do it. was alot more common in the 80s and 90s wen people had less disposable income, people useto actually rent TVs

Had the tv out with him, but he couldnt fix the issue, he said he couldnt see anything wrong when he opened it up. But the issue is still there so im lookin for a 2nd opinion and who knows maybe it cant be fixed

Its like a theres a panel on the screen a diferent shade of colour to the rest. Really bad while watchin sport where the screen is mostly green, theres one 'panel' a diff shade of green to the rest. Not as bad when watchin regular tv or movies as youve got loads of diff colour on the screen but really bad for sport.

Its there when u plug out all the hdmi leads too as the load screen is blue so ye can see a diff shade of blue in the same place as say the green as when im watchin sport.

Should be able to see issue in this pic.

I think that there is a place opposite the bus station on the quay?

No Expert but i have dabbled...

That looks like the connectors to the screen in that section are gone. They are like little flat ribbon cables.

Usually not economic to repair if that is it as it means a replacement screen.

tbh, if someone like Diarmuid Marsh cant figure it out, you might be goosed, you may have to consider moving on from this unit. dropped a screen out to kilbarry a few months ago, lads were asking me what was wrong, wasnt 100% sure but i suspected some sort of hardware/software issue, screen seemed to be fine, lads were only interested if there was a screen problem, so screen related problems are probably not worth the hassle, so.....

Typically it'not economical to repair things like this these days. The old school CRTs were simple devices with easy to access parts, not so much any more.

Are you sure it's not a burn-in or image retention issue? You could always try running a burn-in fix image for a good few hours to see if it helps.

I wouldn't agree with the bad cable/connector diagnosis as in my experience that typically manifests as more aggressive lines and things down the screen as opposed to a fading or set colour issue. obviously can't be 100% without having it in front of me of course.

Ran a few 4k fix image burn in videos on youtube already, suppose wouldnt hurt to try a few more. The tv is a samsung neo qled, "theyre not supposed to suffer from image burn" so ive read and thats why i bought it

    Hi,

Hope this is the right thread, but is anyone else having issues with their channel reception?

I have the basic Sky package and have noticed some channels are having reception problems at times, especially RTE 1.

This is my current signal set up (below). Should I try another set-up?

Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

    Niall

That's not you signal information, thats just the data from the channel on that frequency.

This is what you are looking for.

Sorry if I didn't explain, I am wondering if there is a better frequency to use other than my current one?

    Is frequency 11.778 the best?

Can you advise or provide a link where I can find further details of other frequency information that I could try out to add channels.

    🙂

    Hi,

The channels that I have through my Sky basic package at present are through Frequency 10788 V 27500 2/3.

If I change this data to added other channels, will I loose the existing channels?

    😯

Thats not how it works Im afraid, There could be anything up to hundred different frequencies broadcasting channels on Sky, if you are having issues, chances are your dish has gone out of line, your LNB has gone faulty or the tuner in the box itself could be the issue. Another possibility could well be leaves on nearby tress obstructing your dish.
