Rent Tax Credit if property owner?

Can I claim the rent tax credit if I own a property? I am a reluctant landlord (unable to sell my apartment due to fire cert issues, but as it’s too small for my family I rent it out and rent a larger property)

    TIA

If you are renting, and the tenancy is registered with the RTB, you should be entitled to the tax credit. I dont see why not.

Yep, you can be a property owner and claim it.

I'd suggest that you ensure your tax affairs are in order with regard to the property you own before attempting to claim rent relief on your home.
