The question I have is this in use in Ireland? The reason I ask is if stores are now able to self identify offenders what's next? What's your view on this? Mods please move this to the correct forum if needed.

I don't know if it is in use here but it certainly wouldn't bother me in the slightest if it was.

Some months back Tesco had onscreen video of you when you used the self scan checkout, they have since disabled the video onscreen but I am sure all still have the facility to capture video. They could have a collection of dodgy shoppers who have ripped them off.
In theory the system could work to permanently ban any shopper it recognises who previously robbed from them using the self scan again.
