Schoolboy error! Bought a 3 yr old VW earlier in the week. I was driving it today for the first relatively long journey (>30mins) and I noticed I was uncomfortably warm given the AC was turned on. On closer inspection I was only getting the air from outside the car, it was in no way cold. So yeah, check the AC as part of your inspection. Luckily it's under a 12 month warranty because AC related things can be expensive to fix!

Partly annoyed with myself for not spotting it but also annoyed with this reputable dealer for not picking it up before handing it over to me and the hassle involved getting it back to them to fix it!

Don't be too hard on yourself, on a 3 year old car you would expect it to be working. I drive a 15 year old focus, have it 12 years and only re gassed for the 2nd time last month. Hopefully it's only that and some tech let it out.

On above car I noticed some over spray on the rear quarter panel after doing the first wash so car had some minor repair which I was not aware of. And I'd like to think I'm fairly eagle eyed on such. Hard to check everything.
