I would appreciate any feedback on the Nissan Note 2013/14. I tested 2 today both 1.2 petrol Japanese imports.

Is there anything that I need to look out for other than what I know about radio being in Japanese, they are automatic, keyless entry etc?

    Thanks in advance

Check with your insurance that there won't be a loading because its an import.

They have alarm/immobiliser so won’t be stolen. Will help with insurance.

My insurance said there is a loading for imports it's nothing to do with having an immobiliser, never got to the bottom of what it was about.

Certain Asian branded cars imported from Japan don't have an immobiliser so thieves target them. Thing is that thieves may not know from the offing if an immobiliser is fitted or not and still end up damaging the car breaking into it. Owners then claim off their insurance for repairing the damage done which in turn puts these cars on a higher insurance risk than others. For example the Toyota Aqua, some of them do have an immobiliser while others don't, yet thieves and joyriders may not distinguish them until they have already broken into them.

You might find a European brand such as VW that is imported from Japan, may not carry the same insurance loading because they don't stand out to thieves or joyriders as much.

Anyone have experience with the cvt gearbox on these?

If you look it up there are multiple examples of failure, im inclined to believe it affected cars sold in the Usa rather than Japan.
