Tanking membrane paint for outside stairs

    We are re-tiling a concrete outside stairs.

    When we remove the old tiles, we want to apply tanking to waterproof the concrete before re-tiling.

    1. How many litres of tanking per square metre, approximately?
    2. Is one coat enough?

    Can't say I understand the need to tank an outside concrete stairs, guessing under the stairs is going to be used for dry storage.

    Anyway I used this kit a number of years ago to tank a shower area which I had kitted out in cement board so somewhat similar porosity to the concrete stairs. Description was pretty accurate with the 5 litres of tanking membrane covering 7.5 square meters using two coats and three in sections.

    To answer your questions:

    1. 0.66 litres per square meter
    2. No, two required

    Prices have really surged, I bought that from the UK for just under €55 delivered (Goodwins were about €70 if memory serves).
