VW Tiguan or similar

Hi folks. Looking at getting a VW Tiguan as a run around so it will be an early model, 2010 or under (6k budget)

Anything to look out for on these? Mostly looking at the 2wd tdi version as the 4wd ones are a lot more expensive to tax. Don't know if the 1.4 petrol ones are any good?

Also any similar makes/models worth keeping an eye for?

    Thanks

A friend has a Tiguan and think it great.

Now VAG did not sell petrol Tiguans until recently, and then low powered ones (130 bhp vs 150 bhp). There are very few petrol Tiguans in Ireland.

There are a few early 1.4 petrol Tiguans advertised. 1.4 tsi which from a quick Google seem to be twin charged 150bhp units..

I know the tdi unit would be much better but they are strong money

The twin charged 1.4 was and is a clusterfuck of reliability and should be avoided at all costs.
