NC6 form wasn't submitted on time

    Hi,

The house I bought had PV panels installed and commissioned (new build). I had moved in January 2022, PV's were working fine. Came August 2022 and I wanted to check with ESB if I qualify for micro generation credit - turns out installers didn't submitted NC6. Took me 3 months between installers and ESB to finally get this sorted (by November). My current electricity provider paid back for micro-generation only until Nov, as they say before that I wasn't registered.

Clearly fault on ESB or Installers side (apparently they were sending to wrong email address, so I'm guessing there is more people like me affected by this). Has anyone had similar situation? Is there any organisation where I can rise this to be backdated to Feb 2022?

Sadly from all the people I've seen with missing NC6 forms, the end result was the same as yourself. The date that the NC6 form being registered is the date that they'll go off of. I don't blame them (ESBN) either. While we can fault them for "losing" forms when you have proof that they got it, they also have to avoid people rocking up and saying that "Ohh i alwasys had these" when infact.... they didn't.

Supplier is at fault there I'm afraid, wrong email address is a bit lame too. I mean as Roy would say "That's their job"....

Thanks for response, unfortunately as I thought, there is no solution.

What really irritates me is that there is no organization or ombudsman in Ireland which would have final say on such things. Missing forms/connections - supplier has final say, bills not issued in four months (looking at you IE) - no punishment to supplier. Wholesale prices falling to low levels, no discounts for us. They do whatever they want :(

You can get on to the CRU but in reality they are absolutely useless in monitoring anything in the market. I know from first hand experience.

Sorry to hijack, any idea when is payment normally backdayed to if something was missing in the initial application?

I've asked ESBN and got nothing back

On receipt of the NC6 form to ESBN FIT starts from that date.

I assume that I'll hear back from them at some point.

So my understanding now is that they backdate the FIT to the day the they recieved thr original NC6 form, regardless of the fact that there seems to be something missing/wrong in it which is being address by the installer.

Email or ring ESBN to confirm it was received and get confirmation from them by email, they have misplaced a fair few forms so cover yourself.

Does anybody know (or can point me to) the requirements for installers to submit an NC6 form, and if its mandatory from what date was it required to be submitted?

Moved into a house back in 2016 which had PV panels installed. ESBN confirmed no NC6 form submitted.

They just didn't submit it/esb lost it.

It's been in for a long time, I'd say from the start of the first microgen scheme

This thread is a blast from the past in 2009, it's 2023 and we've only just started getting microgen again. (Don't comment it's flipping old)

There is reference to the nc6 in 2009 in that thread. I'd say the nc6 has been about ever since microgen was a thing.

if provider is electric ireland you also need a smart meter . payment is made from whichever was logged last ..

ie nc6 in june , smart meter in november , only paid fit from november ...

Only 24hr meters don't get paid deemed FIT, if you had a day/night meter you should have got deemed FIT for that period before the smart meter was fitted afaik.

Yep mcc01(24 hr) dont get the deemed fit.

Only day night (mcc02) get the deemed fit and are not currently able to get a smart meter. (Coming soon™ though)

Just to keep you and future readers of this thread posted.

ESBN confirmed today that export is now activated on my account/portal.

They only started it the day the amended form came in from the PV installer (the 1st form, I was told, didn't have the correct cert).

I can also see a new field for power contributed to the grid under ESBNs (open to all smart meter owners btw):

Thanks for that, there was nothing like that on My account, so I followed up with networkservicesbureau@esb.ie

It turns out my NC6 does not appear to have been received/processed/sent yet (ESBN says no, Installer says yes).

    We'll see what happens.

Afaik for the grant submission, the installer needs to file the NC6 there before the grant is paid. Or so I thought. That has nothing to do with ESBN. But at least you could get the copy there yourself (you should be able to see the docs in the SEAI portal I think) and submit to ESBN direct yourself. Then you bypass the messing with one saying it's done, the other saying it's not. But you'll only get FIT from day ESBN process it (not back dated).
