Looking at a new bike (first bike in about 5 years) for commuting 6km ish each way

want something fairly easy to maintain and that I can wear my work clothes on the bike (so full mudguards)

would also like the option of the occasional sun 100km leisure/fitness ride. Have done a lot of sportives etc on a road bike in the past so don’t really see myself, right now, falling back into that world.

wouod a single speed or fixed like the genesis flyer be the best option or madness?

    thanks

What about a 1x gravel bike? Fairly easy to maintain and would give you the option of longer spins if you wanted?
