    Hi I am currently on point 2 of Grade 3 Clerical payscale

    I have just accepted a Grade IV will I start on first point payscale for Grade IV

    Yes unless your currently point is valued above what Grade IV point 1 is, then you'll get the closest grade above your current salary.

    You'll never lose money going up grades.

    @Caoimhe2 It's always the nearest point not below when you get upgraded.

    You'll start at minimum of current salary (+1?)

    Unless you're already doing responsibilities matching the higher grade and then a case to HR can be made to start higher.
