PV panels and attic vents

    I have several attic vents on my roof when I got my attic insulated a few years ago….can solar panels be fitted I’ve the vents…otherwise what are my options ?

    Strictly speaking, you can't cover the vents and if you do then you don't qualify for the grant. You can go right up beside them however, mine are about 2cm away from one vent

    Just to be clear, I've seen other houses that covered the vents and they seem fine. They even got the grant so I guess the installer took a picture from an angle that you couldn't see the vents

    But if SEAI come to inspect it and see the vent you'd probably lose the grant

    Also I'd personally avoid covering the vents of possible, even if it means moving one a bit

    Thanks your’re right…it’s no prob just to move them slightly to avoid the vent …

    But there will be a gap of a few centimetres between the roof and the panels. Does it cause any actual problems anyways (SEAI, insurance, etc)?
