If i wanted to water down slurry in slatted tanks and it might take too long to fill from roof water (hopefully weather stays dry..), would it be efficient to pump from river to tank instead of contractor drawing it with tank??

River 50m from tank and power, maybe 6m level difference, go with a submersible from shed power, submersible off a generator or a petrol pump?

    Lot of arsing but possible.

If the river is that close the contractor would likely draw 10,000 gal to shed tank in an hour without rushing.

You will earn every penny of the money you save trying to get the pump set up

Could get 50 metres of lay flat hose, old free umbilical pipe from contractor and hook it onto a top fill mixer dropped into the river perhaps.
