Hanging 20kg Mirror

Looking for a best way to hang a 20kg mirror...

The mirror has a wire cable to hang from...

Would a couple of screw with wall plugs do, or would I need more...

The wall is a concrete block wall...

It depends, do you mind it sitting off the wall slightly? The metal wire has been designed to take the weight. I would use 2 large hooks to support it so it isn't hanging on a single point. Sometimes I cut the hooks and bend them up so they are closer to the wall.

I just use a concrete screw, leaving it slightly proud of the wall. The head is wide enough to catch the wire.

Those flush mounts look great.

Yea a brick screw would hold the weight alright, maybe drilled in at a slight angle.

Yes the mounts are nice, they actually inter-lock with each other, but you could just mount one/two to the wall with 4 screws and put the wire on the back of the mirror over it.

I had to do similar recently.. woodies had rawl plugs for masonry with a weight load indicator on it.. just used one of those with round headed screw and it worked grand.. had thought about further bracket supports etc but when you think about it a big chunk of masonry unlikely to break off and the screw isnt going to slip out either if done right... so just went with the one screw and the mirror is still in place.

If I'm hanging heavy frames/ mirrors etc I like to use a largish screw in a wall plug, but I will thread the screw through an M5 or M6 washer so that the wire or cord can slip behind it. No fear of the frame being knocked off the screw head then and gives a very positive fixing. Cheap and effective.

A hanging frame doesn't need much support.

It's only when you move it to clean it that you need extra support.
