There is no one size fits all used car warranty. It depends on the terms and conditions of that warranty and the dealer honouring it. Most main or big dealers will give a comprehensive warranty whereas smaller or back street type dealers may only cover the engine and gearbox. Some small time dealers offer 3rd party warranties from warranty companies. These are not great and usually come with lots of exemptions of what's not covered, they are more an insurance policy against mechanical failure really. They also allow the selling dealer to just tell you it's not their problem and go deal with the warranty company.

And letting a car in for work and just presuming it's covered under warranty is not very savvy. You need to ask the dealer before hand, pointless finding out after the work is done that you have to pay for it where if that was the case you could have shopped around for a better price. And most warranties will not cover replacing things that might fail in the future ie if one injector fails it doesn't mean they will proactively replace the others unless they are faulty too.

Some would say if one injector is gone rest will soon follow same with diesel pump as could be diesel pump braking up causing injector to go . Plus dealer could say it was bad diesel you got and it not covered under warranty

If it has the Toyota backed warranty, it’s one of the best out there.

Would that also apply on their sale of a Nissan?

Yes, once the car qualifies on age and mileage, they can give you the proper Toyota Plus warranty, which is effectively bumper to bumper

Toyota Approved Used car Warranty. Shouldn't have any issues getting things covered with that. All handled by Toyota Ireland, irrespective of brand of used car. It's a very decent warranty.
