    Hi all,

Does anyone have experience of hiring an EV from Hertz in France? Especially a Tesla Model Y Long Range - or 'equivalent'.

    If you do:

    1. General thoughts?
    2. How was charging - did you use the Shell Recharge network or just stick to the Superchargers?
    3. How much charge was in the car upon pickup?
    4. If you booked the Tesla Model Y car but got the 'equivalent' - what was it? ID4?
    5. Approximately how much range were you getting?

    Cheers, John

Have a look at evdatabase.org for info on range.

Abetterrouteplanner website or app is a good place to start for planning a route, for the Model Y make sure to select CCS as well as Tesla CCS in the options.

Will be much easier, more reliable etc to stick to superchargers and the car will plan it all for you with zero effort to you, including charging stops etc.... Just charge up a decent amount before your destination so you've enough charge to potter about for a few days.

Do you have an EV? Fantastic car and loads of space etc any specific questions just ask.

How are the rental costs vs an equivalent petrol/diesel?

Thanks for this - yes, I had looked at ev-database-org (great resource) and ABRP. Nearest supercharger is a 40 min drive from where I'm staying, though there are a couple of 22kW chargers in the nearby village. However from last year I had experience of a bank of 8 chargers not working in the little town where I stayed so am a little twitchy. Gite only has standard power sockets (which will be fine for the occasional trickle charge).

    Cheers, John
