What's wrong with my Tucson booster pump?

Tucson SBP 100 booster pump that boosts all non-mains water to the house. We had no water for about 48 hours last weekend. I think the attic tank emptied just as the supply was coming back. Pump stopped pumping, and was warm when I went to check on it.

I have messed about with the two nuts on top and now it will pump water, but not shutting off when taps closed. It sounds like it is about to cut out, but keeps running, and then knocks and vibrates. Pump switched off; using mains bypass for pressure.

It sounds like maybe there is air in it. How could I clear it? Anything else to try? Which of the nuts bleeds the pump?

    Thanks.

    hi @johnb25

    - I have the same pump model and am having problems ( different to yours ) and I reckon I need to replace.
Just wondering if you managed to fix the problem or did you need to replace - and if so with what ?

I’m trying to find a pump that runs quieter than this did.

    Thanks
