hi all im a novice diy , i was just wondering is a 1/2" pipe equal to 15mm pipe because im trying to install a second hand bath but have to reloacate the sink in my bathroom and plumb in the bathub , i was thinking of using push fit barrier pipe with push fit fittings

as a novice i dont know if the bath waste mesurment with roughly 1,1/2" i think , i just wanted to know if a sink waste pipe would be the same or simlar

but main question as above is 1/2" the same as 15mm barrier push fit pipe as i dont know hence why im back here again

    thank you

Yes, in essence 15mm is half-inch, but true 15mm is a "British half-inch" and "Irish half-inch" is 14.7mm.

So if your bath fittings are British they are likely to be 15mm and you'll need Irish olives (if using compression) or a converter (I think) if using push-fit.

I'm not sure how 15mm pipe comes into it? Taps are more than likely to be 1/2 inch BSP or 3/4 inch for bath taps no matter where they come from (OK anywhere thats UK or Ireland).

So connection to 1/2 inch pex needs a 1/2 inch push fit to 1/2 inch BSP connector of some form or another.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Use compression fittings instead, push fit aren't great for high pressure water.
