have a Volvo V40, recently I replaced the rear ABS sensor and this resolved the issue. but since this, it is showing City Safe Service is required. this error pops up when you close the safety belt,

im just wondering will this be a fail for NCT? do they close the safety belts as part of the NCT or just do they just do an inspection of the belts?

    tks

They buckle up all seat belts, but the warning won’t result in a failure

City safe service is a fault with the ABS system, you may have fitted the wrong abs sensor (city safe uses a different one) or the system needs to be reset. whether it will fail is probably open to interpretation. It does indicate a fault with a system that should be a fail

No the sensor is the correct one the exact same issue happened last time I swapped out the rear left sensor, volvo reset something then. Th3 city safe still works just a warning. Just wondering will it pass the nct with the warning

It may or may not, technically it should be a fail but it may depend on who you get

For the sake of the "will it, won't it" you will get here, I would say that a quick spin to a Volvo dealer to reset the CitySafe error may be a good idea, especially if you have done this before.

Either that, or find a good Volvo independent with access to VADIS (or whatever the system is called now) who could do it for you in the blink of an eye.

It needs to be reset. Any mechanic with decent diagnostics can reset it for you.
