New mixer - low pressure only on cold water in kitchen

    Hi all

i recently fitted a new mixer in the kitchen but the flow from the cold side is very low pressure. All other taps in the house are fine. I’ve opened up the line under the sink as far as the tap will allow (afraid of the top unscrewing in my hand). It’s always been good pressure until now

    any ideas ?

    thanks

There are taps designed for low pressure & taps designed for high pressure / pressurised system. For the most part in Ireland we need low pressure taps.

What is the hot side like? Most people would complain about the pressure from the hot side rather than the cold side.

Hot side is perfect, as is the drinking water tap that is sourced from the cold water although this is low pressure anyway.

Mixer: Is the hot side fed via a HW cylinder from a cold water storage tank in the attic?

Mixer: Is the cold side fed from the cold water storage tank or from the mains?

    Is it a thermostatic mixer?.

id say its the pipe diameter reducing flow. we had the same issue, when an eejit in the kitchen shop specced it out for us without telling us we need a high pressure system.

Cold kitchen feed should be from the mains not the attic tank.

cold kitchen is from the mains. Brass tap underneath the sink on the back of the house is what the cold mixer side is directly piped to.

What the solutions chanps? A whole new mixer tap (waste of 70euro) or can it be adjusted

    Thanks

If fitted recently means within the past year then it should be under warranty?.

If you have a separate drinking tap, that should be on the mains. Then the hot and cold can come off the attic tank system.
