Campervan negative experience in Ireland - Help !

I bought good new looking ford transit van and converted professionally into campervan 3 years ago.

Since then, people have given me negative experience anywhere I drive in Ireland.

They would intentionally try to see who is driving a camper van, giving bad look, taking pictures and videos, certain service stations would think that I am planning to steal something or what not, some people from a short distance shout someone else name by looking at me do they think that person is in the campervan? Approaching me with made up questions I guess to get to know me? Or park the car next to my van at night and sit for several hours in an absolutely empty parking lot.

I have driven campervan in the past in the US, Canada and mainland Europe and never experienced any of that except in Ireland. At this stage I feel that I have done something wrong and I don't know what it is.

Perhaps someone can help me to understand what is going on please?

    Thank you so much

Poor effort at trolling, must do better. Have you a dag?

Why is it trolling, might be legit?

I think people probably think that you are belonging to a certain travelling ethnic group thus are wary of you. This group like to drive ford transits also.

A few seconds googling shows lots of incidents online of camper vans getting hassled, broken into all over the world. It's not unique to Ireland.

I've a Toyota hiace camper and I've even had members of the traveling community ask me about it. It's one for the black book is what one said. But I've never had any hassle from anybody. There might be something about your van that is different or known to belong to somebody else.

What I'd do is change it's appearance so it looks more like a tourist campervan and less like a liveaboard van. You get some strange characters living in vans so its possibly that.

Try decals off aliexpress or ebay if you want them faster.

Campervans etc were fine when there was only a few of them pre Covid. After that.. nah.. too many clogging up places where people go.

Put a surfboard on it. Can't get any more touristy than that.

I know a man who has a low roof transit.

He was getting the looks and etc.

He put some decals connected to his hobby on it and problem solved.

had a loan of a van a couple of months ago, had very few problems, but it was off season and i was in fairly remote areas, id say some villages are getting well fed up with them by now though, particularly during peak. only had one real run in, accidentally drove onto private property, owner wasnt too happy, which was understandable, but decided to be a complete arsehole about it, ended in some choice words from both of us, shur i didnt give a fcuk really, maybe its happening to him a good bit now, but he doesnt seem to want to try prevent it from happening again, his problem i guess....

    found this app amazing
