Three Phase Inverter / Battery owners - question about net metering vs export

Hi - for users who have three phase inverters with/without a battery. My understanding is the Inverter evenly spreads electricity generated between the three phases. If there is low load on two phases but high load on a third phase you could end up exporting on two phases and importing one the third phase. Does ESB do net metering between the three phases or does it treat everything at the meter as import/export? Thank you.

There is no net metering in Ireland, everything is either deemed export or actual via suicidal Smart Meter plans

That is not the question being asked though.

I don't know the answer unfortunately. I suspect import on each phase is recorded summed to arrive at the billable kWh import figure.

What inverter do you have? Some models support unbalanced three phase generation (to solve exactly this problem).

Not bought one yet but considering it for a new build where I have three phase available outside. But that's not a question I want to get into here (going single phase vs three phase).

There are no three phase smart meters currently but was just trying to understand how an unbalanced load would lead to the inverter and / or battery discharging on the other two phases - being paid for export but then being forced to buy that electricty back in at retail rates when demand goes the other way!

Didn't know about unbalanced phase generation, what inverter models support that feature? Thanks!
