Cow collars

Looking for a bit of advice. Hoping to get cow collars here in coming weeks . Have been talking to both Sensehub and Censortec (Nedap). One is a few grand more expensive. Anyone have any experience or opinion on either system?

In the same boat myself have the srnsehub eartags but their needing replacing,loss rate over 50% in year 4 so the system is useless now....

A good point my nutritionist made yesterday was he's doing diets for lely robot herds where they have installed nedap/cow manager systems in favour of using the sensehub collars that come with lely robots days it all really, is the nedap much more per collar

Just put in sensehub collars in the last month, so can't really say too much only that it's picking up cows that are bulling hours before you'd know yourself from watching them.

Also got the drafting gate and generally draft a few cows just so they get used to it, hasn't missed anything so far.

Cost per collar pretty much the same with both at approx €130 Inc vat but nedap base station €2500+ more expensive is the main difference. Nedap collar has much longer battery life which is swaying me that way. No drafting gate here.

Have SenseHub collars here going into there 3rd year

very happy with it, picking up cows before they get any way visably sick and picking up all the heats with no tail paint or watching

most annoying thing would be the collars banging off the troughs at milking

Fairly certain I was told sensehub were 7 years for the collars, they have a 5 year warranty so I couldn't see them only lasting that length.

Have locking barriers in the parlour and no issues with them.

Done a deal on the cow manager system yesterday working out at 55 euro a cow upfront for 180 with vat reclaimed on hardware and 22 euro a year per cow subscription that includes all health fertility and nutrition modules plus auto drafting...

The whole system including tags is fully warranted with no quibble replacement policy, and at the end of year 5 you simply just keep paying the subscription per year and its still fully covered by warranty, option to drop tag numbers on the system by 20% and just pay the subscription on remaining tags in use

Looking at Sense Hub, Censortec and Cow Manager here. Did anyone look at the herd insights system?

For me it's between Censortec and cow manager right now. Sense hub is a good system and I have a feeling they'll be adding on a lot of other updates in the next few years. It'll come down to backup and price here.

I know ppl with censortec collars and the information is very poorly displayed

you get an awfuL lot of graphs and you kind of nearly have to make the decision yourself as to whether the cow is sick or bulling

Most of the people I know that bought collars dump them after a few years and go back to tail paint.

Same with auto calve feeders

No gate isn't included, it's means the gate that's going in is linked to the cow manager system and if you select auto-draft all cows in heat on the cow manager app its drafts out all cows in heat when milking automatically circa 12k plus vat for drafting gate
