How is water getting hot?

I have a Climote system in the house (for a few years without issue), also have an immersion on a timed switch. Recently the kids have been switching the immersion to ON and forgetting about it, so I hit the circuit breaker and setup the Climote to heat the water for an hour each morning. Enough for showers etc but today I noticed I had hotter water than the temp was set at. I have it at 37 but the Climote is reporting it now at 46 when it should infact be cooling off and there shouldn't be much left in the evening time. So how is my water being heated beyond the hour in the mornings? The heating for the other two zones in the house is on and off during the day for 21degress upstairs and downstairs. Any thoughts?

i wonder do the climote have a built in safety feature to keep the water above 55 because of the danger of legionnaires disease

    just a guess

Climote don't have temperature control for the hot water only the heating afaik, only on or off unless there is a separate stat on the cylinder.

It could also be that if you have zoned heating and a valve on the cylinder loop, then maybe the valve is faulty/stuck.

Turn on the central heating only and put a hand on the coil into the cylinder (should be the middle or bottom feed into the cylinder) and see it it heats up.

Will try that. Thanks for the inputs

Suggest you get one of these, less than a tenner. You can just put a hole under the insulation and push the sensor through, just make sure it's in contact with the surface of the cylinder. I drilled a hole in my hot press wall and the readout is visible from the hall. Never have to worry if the water is hot enough for a shower.
