    Screwfix sell small car/caravan inverters.

They'll do little harm to your battery if used infrequently. Typically for long term use you'd have a dual battery setup.

Keep in mind the power (Watts) of your sharpener and get an inverter that covers this. Small inverters may come with a 12v plug and larger ones need to be connected to the battery and fused appropriately.

    This the power it uses

So based on that Max Power consumption of 140W you need a power inverter rated for higher than that. Most 12V car sockets can take a 150W inverter so something like this is what you need. Only use with the engine running or you'll have a flat battery very quickly.

Anything more than 150W generally has to be wired to the battery as if you plug it into the 12V socket the fuse will probably go.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
