Hi all, we've a builder in doing some works and his plumber installed our bathroom radiator. It's less neat than we thought it would be and was hoping someone more knowledgeable could tell us if its done right! I thought the pipes coming from the wall would go straight I to the valve?

Not too much wrong there in my mind - the radiator probably could not have been fitted directly on top of the pipes where they exit the wall as it would not have had sufficient clearance. He probably could have put white pipe covers on the plastic piping to hide them and maybe could have shortened the pipes slightly. Otherwise looks ok if not a bit close to the window.

It looks like the valves could be reversed and the radiator mounted at the pipe exit height, did you show the plumber what you wanted to do prior to installation? it seems a bit of a waste of corner valves to use them that way (we have them on all rads and everything is nice, neat and concealed. Also looks like they tried to align the radiator top with the top of the window for whatever reason.

it doesn't look great, but if you really need to be clear with people on how you want stuff to look. Did you chat to the plumber before the tiling was done?

You obviously spent a bit of money on the radiator and valves. I wouldn't be happy looking at that myself, looks like a handy man job. Some chrome elbows and two small lengths of chrome pipe would look much better. Or if they are copper pipes in the wall I would have bent two lengths of 1/2'' coper and soldered it on (before tiling).

Yeah not great looking, for reference here is one I did myself as a home diyer not a professional plumber, I still need to get rid of old pipe. The holes in the tiles aren't even round did he just whack the wall with a hammer.
