Immermat Flash Timer -> Tado Receiver

    Hi,

    I am looking at replacing an old Immermat Flash 31100 timer with a Tado receiver.

    According to Tado, this is a do-it-yourself task and I should move the wires as follows:


    From the Flash Timer To the Tado

    Connection Point 1 (L in) Connection Point L

    Connection Point 2 (N in) Connection Point N

    Connection Point 3 (N out) Connection Point N (ie same as for CP 2)

    Connection Point 4 (L out) Connection Point CH NO (CH = Central Heating)


    (On the Tado, I also have to bridge Connection Point L and Connection Point CH COM)


    However, in the myriad of wiring connected to the Flash Timer, there is a brown wire that appears to connect Connection Point 1 to Connection Point 4.


    That seems strange as I would have thought that directly connecting the L in to the L out would bypass parts of the timer circuit.


    Why is it done like that in the Flash Timer? And more importantly, should I make a direct connection in the Tado from connection point L to connection point CH NO? Or does bridging Connection Point L to Connection Point CH COM achieve the same thing (and can I leave it out as a result)?
