eDreams change of dates option for €8

Booked return flights in October with eDreams. When paying for it there was an option of buying something that would allow you to change your travel dates at a later point that cost €8 and keep the same price. I forget what it was called but I opted out of this because I was presented with so many extras that I went into auto-reject mode. But come to think of it, this option was quite cheap.

I made the booking 3 nights ago. Is there any way of still buying it? Is anyone familiar with this sort of thing?

Sounds like a no change fee but likely to have to pay fare difference.

As a matter of interest, how much cheaper were edreams compared to the airline ?

I'm not sure, I didn't check the price on the airline website. I'm one way with Ryanair and the other with Aer Lingus.

But there is something in one email from eDreams which shows a slash through the price of €187 and then shows the price I paid, €140; and over this it says "with Prime, you're saving every time you book". Is that them claiming that I'd have had to pay that much more?!

Will that be based on the price of the flight at the time I decide to change, or will it be based on the price the other flight option was at the time I booked my ticket? And do you think it's too late now?

It would be based on the fare when you change although I'm sure edreams will say that the fare quoted is no longer available and will try to extort more money from you. Also unlikely you saved ANY money. Think about it, why would edreams be able to offer a cheaper fare than the airline?
