    Hi

Ive just tried to sell car and Ive been inundated with people being rude and pushy on the phone. Is there any other option when selling apart from the main website everyone seems to use? In summary, is there a platform/method that sane people use to buy and sell cars to stay away from the unsavory people who seem to call over and over?

    Thanks.

What is the make/model/year of the car you are selling?

Option to hang up! No I'd leave it where it is, you're obviously getting views and if interest so the right buyer should come along soon

I sold one privately last year (18000 euro) the first guy to call bought it but I left it up for 5 days between the day he paid deposit and day he paid the balance and I had some right idiots call me and there were lots of messages offering about 50% of asking price.

Get a burner sim card first so you can throw it away when the car is sold as too many clowns saving screen shots of adverts and then ringing ages later about the car when pissed drunk, stoned or lonely.

Personally I wouldn't entertain answering any private numbers.

Anybody that gets mouthy on the phone, just hang up on them. If they persist then block them.

Unfortunately when you dealing with joe public then your going to encounter a fair amount of head cases and time wasters. The easier option is to sell to one of those webuycars type dealerships but you won't get as much for it.

If the car is the right model in good nick with an NCT and the price is right it will sell itself.

    ATM it's a sellers market.

Put as much info as possible in the ad and don't talk money on the phone.

Tell them to come and see it and you'll deal then.

Unfortunately DoneDeal is where everyone goes. As mentioned, burner sim from Tesco etc in an old phone is the best. Answer when you want and you know only ad people will be contacting you on it.

Post it in the Boardsies for sale thread, there’s a few sane heads here!
