Fast Half Marathon in April May or June? - NYC Marathon qualifier

I'm hoping to qualify for the NYC Marathon using the half marathon time qualifier route.

    For M45-49, this is 1.28.00

In the Great Limerick Run Half last year, I managed 1.29.21 off the back of Boston Marathon training a few weeks earlier.

So I need to find around 90 seconds over the 13 miles.

The Limerick Half is hilly enough in places so I'm looking at alternatives.

I've only ever run the half in Dingle, Charleville and the old downhill course in Killarney.

Is there a flat, fast half marathon in April May or June that people would recommend?

Obviously, it would have to be recognized by NYRR for qualifiaction purposes.

    Suggestions please?

I have no idea if it's recognised, I just know it's very flat.

    2024, yes.

Hopefully the 1.28 standard doesn't move and become more difficult

Why the June cutoff? Doesn't a recognised HM time anytime in 2023 count? I qualified for NYC 2018 with my Charleville 2017 result.

I haven't got a suggestion for you. Just a warning to maybe not get your hopes up too high.

Running a "qualifying" time in a non NYRR race does not guarantee entry to the marathon. When the application process opens it's first come, first served. However for the past two years, their systems have not been able to handle the traffic, so many people find themselves getting timeouts and not being able to register. For the past two years I've had times that meet the standard and have been ready to go on the minute the application window opened, but have not got a place. It's best to think of getting a qualifying time as buying yourself entry to an additional lottery. Hopefully they come up with a better process next year, but given that the exact same thing has happened two years in a row, I'm not very optimistic.
