Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Soccer Ban

    I got a ban from the soccer forum for comments I made in the Manchester City thread. I wasn't abusive towards a poster or fans in general. I messaged the mod (DM_7 I think) after I received the warning to explain my comments but was banned without even being told of the ban.

    Completely over the top reaction in my view.

    Since the Sports CMod (@ShamoBuc ) also moderates Soccer, I'll step in here and act as cmod, which means you'll be able to appeal to one of the other admins if you disagree the outcome.

    To start with, @fergiesfolly you say you PMed the mod, did you give them time to respond?

    I got two warnings in quick succession for one or maybe two posts. I then PM'd the mod to question the warning and put my side to him/her.

    I received no response from the mod, but next time I tried to enter the soccer forum I was restricted. I PM'd the mod asking if I was banned and he replied that I was.

    Yes, you picked up a red card in soccer for trolling the man city thread, which automatically carries a 2 week ban.

    What's the basis on which you want to dispute this card?

    I wasn't trolling. I was giving an honest opinion of their current situation regarding the PL investigation.

    One poster took it very much to heart and preceded to defend his club, which is fair enough but at the same time, I'm entitled my opinion. I feel very strongly about the issue and I stand over the comments I made. If the language I used was strong, it was only in response to his rather condescending tone.

    It's a forum based on debate. So I did.
