Extra Panels or DIY Battery to my existing system ???

I have a 16 panel system with two seperate linked 3kw GoodWe Inverters (6KW in total). The inverters are not hybrid so a battery can not be added without changing the invertors to hybrid. I am thinking about two options, One is to add another AC coupled invertor like a Sofar ME3000SP and a DIY battery system like has been covered in some other posts on here. The other option is to buy another 3Kw Goodwe invertor or different model invertor and link another 8 new solar panels to this to increase the overall capacity. I am on a single phase connection to the ESB so will this be an issue regarding the extra panels and increasing the invertor Kw to 9kw? This may be a similar issue if I was to add the Sofar ME3000SP AC coupled invertor ? Just wondering if anyone has a similar setup on a single phase connect and there invertor capacity is over 6kw? I have already got a grant with my original install so this will be carried out without any grant application if it can ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
