Fibreglass over Leaking Lead Flat Roof

    Hi,

Can I apply fibreglass to an existing flat roof that is leaded (with sheets of lead overlaid)?

The roof is currently leaking at the lead joints.

If not, would it be advisable to remove the lead and apply to the wooden boards underneath which may be wet?

Are both the lead / wood likely to move enough to break the fibreglass? Is it very brittle?

    Thanks.

You probably need to remove the lead as the fibreglass will not bond to it then probably sheet over the existing wood with OSB3 for the fibreglass.
