I have a medical appointment in 2 weeks. The appointment is far from my workplace. I work in the public sector. How does it work? Do I use my annual leave or take unpaid leave or is it paid? I just never missed a day of work so don’t know how to go about it. Would I be better calling in sick?

    Have you asked your supervisor/manager?

You're in the public sector so this presumably will apply to you

Scroll down to the section Doctor/dentist/hospital appointments

Ask your manager and see what they say. They might be happy to manually amend your clock. Local arrangements/how sound your manager is will play a big part in this.
