Had the car parked in 1st gear and started it without putting it back into neutral, car jerked forward and then wouldn't start at all when in neutral.

Car makes no sound at all to try and crank over, all lights and electric working fine.

My old man suggested putting car in second gear and rocking it from side to side as I may have moved something in the starter motor.

Googling tells me it could be a faulty starter relay or ignition relay.

Other suggestions from googling is to take -ve lead off battery then put it back on, then try crank it, I tried this didn't work.

Other suggestion was some reset procedure

Close all doors ,boot and bonnet.Lock car with remote;unlock car ,and place key in ignition, turn on ignition for 5 mins but do not try to start the engine at this stage.Turn off ignition ,then turn back on and try and start.

Others suggested removing a fuse called Intelligent Key System fuse from glove box for 5 minutes and trying to start car again.

Car currently stuck at work so will try above in morning or if anyone has an idea what would be wrong would appreciate the help.
