Looking for a resort in lanzarote for 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 10).

Thinking of booking half board or all inclusive as a treat. Is it worth it?

Any recommendations welcome as it's been a while since last took a sun holiday.

First you need to decide on where to stay.

Puerto del Carmen, Playa Blanca or Costa Teguise?

Puerto del Carmen is the busiest, with more shops and things to do for kids, but that also makes it the tackiest (though a long long way short of mainland Spain tackiness).

Kid's clubs can be seasonal, you would definitely need a kid's club is going all-inclusive. You need to check when booking that the kid's club is operational, sometimes they are open on British school holidays but not Irish ones.

The other two resorts are quieter, and half-board etc. might be better as less restaurants to choose from.

I have gone all-inclusive several times and never had an issue in Lanzarote.

Stayed in Mirador Papagayo last year. It's in Playa Blanca, about €50 quid in a taxi from the airport.

2 adults and 2 kids with half board. Didnt bother with all inclusive as it only included drinks as extra and we wouldn't get any value from it. Half board had an all you can eat buffet at breakfast and dinner and that was more than enough for us. Ive young kids too and the buffet was perfect as they can try a little bit of everything without the hassle of ending up with a plate of something they wont eat.

Lovely spot, a bit away from the beach but we only used the pool anyway.

I would definitely go there again

Did all inclusive in Sol Lanzarote last summer. Sol Lanzarote. Right on the beach and in a quieter area. 10 minutes from airport.

Kids club ran daily and although our 10 y.o. didn't actively do all the club activities there were pool activities most days which were fun.

Rancho Texas close by which was really good.

Would definitely recommend AI, particularly if going to a quieter location. Prices were on a par with some mainland Europe self catering options.

Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise are very quiet out of season ie places closed. Keep away from Matagorda-too close to the airport.Playa del Pocilos in between Matagorda and Puerto del Carmen is quiet also but places open.
