I am a second level business teacher who did teaching practice in Mayo & Donegal ( where f t jobs are scarce , compared with the cities ) . I haven't had any luck when applying for teaching jobs in Dublin . Do schools prefer to hire someone whom they already know ? My sister qualified as a physio in Scotland & she's having similar problems when applying for roles in Ireland . Do hospitals have a preference to recruit those who did work placements with them ? Thank you .
