FYI - the one at home is 30+ years old and developed a fault 10 years ago or so (I can't recall the details). I know this doesn't answer your question but it was able to be repaired for a fairly small sum of money. So I'd look hard at getting a repair done as replacement is very expensive these days.

Thanks. I believe that I can repair it myself but not idea what the problem can be.

If you're near Dublin, there's a shop called Kenilworth Electrical in Harold's Cross, who are a Kenwood agent. I've dealt with them before and they were very helpful, so it might be worth getting in touch with them.
