Anybody here doing the full 312 this year? I’d like to give it a go, heading with a group from the club but I doubt any will take on the full thing, if there was some here (or a group) that would be willing to take on another body just let me know… did the 225 last year, I’m confident I can complete it but definitely easier with a group..

Going but doing the shortest route as it's my first time. Do you yourself rent or bring your own bike?

Rented last year and will again this year. There’s generally plenty choice although it’s probably cheaper bringing your own if you have access to a bike box.

enjoy it, it’s an amazing experience with the crowds and the closed roads

Key to doing the full 312 route is to get to the start line early - otherwise you could find it take 20-30 minutes (or even longer) getting across the start line - time you really can't afford to lose since they are fairly keen to get the roads open again and the cut-off times are reasonably aggressive - I spoke to a couple of folks a few years ago who were passed by the broom wagon between Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa! I did send them some feedback about trying to address this - perhaps letting the people doing the 312 route go first, followed by the 225 and then the 167 - but not sure if it was ever resolved- since the last time I took part was in 2019 before Covid. It's the only let-down for me in an otherwise fantastic event.

Thanks axel, I did the 160 last year and definitely if I tackle the 312 I’ll be an hour earlier getting to the start!

The 312 start in 2019 was an unmitigated disaster with many people held up for almost 45 mins at the beginning and no allowances made on the course for lost time. Last year's start was fine, and everybody was away within minutes. Axle's complaint must have been taken into account!

For the 312, you will need to have done a solid 240k (with lots of climbing) here a few weeks in advance to be ready. Its quite an ordeal but well worth the effort.
