Any idea how much would cost to get someone to do around 5.5x4.5m slabs in the garden? Standard rectangle slabs.

It largely depends on how much work will be involved in preparing the site, will there be material (turves, soil, gravel etc) to get rid of, what will be needed underneath the slabs, if there are any issues accessing the site, will it need any machinery.

Even then you could get wildly different prices from any two firms and you have to decide whether it has to be the cheapest - which might not be the cheapest in the long run - or someone recommended and reliable. The only really satisfactory way of doing it is to look for quotes and try and check them out. If you find a website with pics of work done, do a reverse search and see how many firms have used that pic!
