Marriage, Separation, Divorce In Ireland & Abroad

If two Irish people are married abroad e.g. Canada and then return and continue to live in Ireland.

What are the requirements in Ireland?

Does the marriage need to be registered in Ireland as well?

Are both parties considered to be married in community of property in Ireland?

What happens if one party is on the deeds of a mortgage before the marriage?

What happens to the property if they divorce?...

Is it normally sold and the difference split between the two? (assuming no kids)

What right does the second party have to the property?

Does any one party have any claim to alimony (as in the US)? - again assuming no kids.

Those are a lot of questions covering a wide range of areas beyond weddings and marriage. I wonder if the Legal Discussion forum would be more helpful for you?
