Windscreen wiper fault

On 21 December 2021 my windscreen wipers stopped working and I got an error message (VW Golf VII) that it was a fault, brought it to a local mechanic, had a mare with it as when he started fiddling with my electrics/fuses whatever the whole car's electrical system shut down and it had to be left til whatever mechanic came back from christmas in his home country. A whole palaver.

Anyway. Yesterday - 21 December 2022, the same thing happened. Windscreen wipers not working and getting an error message.

Would anyone have any hints what's going on, what do I do about it, and is this just coincidence or has my car's 12 month wiper subscription ran out 😆

Exact same thing happened to me last weekend. Had to change the 40amp fuse under the glove box.

    Had no error message though
