    the western cicada killer doesn't appear to occur in europe anyway.

    A Google search says they’re in Mexico, Central and Western America. The pattern on its back looked similar to the Western Cicada Killer from another Google search, it was quite big aswell, didn’t think it was a wasp due to the time of year.
