Hi there, the hot water tap has a small leak coming from it. I was looking to remove the spindle and the chrome cover to get at the quarter turn cylinder but I cannot figure out how to get it off. There is no Allen key hole on the far side of the chrome cover.I thought the spindle would twist off, it doesn’t budge. I know I’m missing some obvious… help :)

Bottom picture shows screwhead, if it won’t unscrew try spraying penetrating oil

I did take the screw out, the cover still wouldn't budge... should it definitely come off once that screw is removed?

Can the handle itself be unscrewed?

looks like the handle is part of the main cover, it wont unscrew. Lots of tips on the web, like soaking or gentle tapping if there’s no grubscrew opposite the handle it looks like it’s just stuck.

I found a video for my exact tap. Looks like I need to use some elbow grease to pull the cover off. The screw on the hot side would budge either. I’ll try wd40 on it.
