Before I get the professionals to in all likelihood flush system and rebalance I’d like to try one last time to balancing our radiators If that is indeed our problem.

I’ve read many articles and have probably confused myself doing it so hope someone can help with advice.

    Background

Several types of Radiators in the house

All the original rads over 20 years old and never flushed as far as I’m aware.

2 towel rails, 2 year old (work ok)

2 in kitchen (5 years old) which replaced another 2 in kitchen (which never worked great)

    I have bled all radiators.

I have put all rooms thermometers, Thermostatic Radiator Valves, Boiler to highest settings and opened all valves to maximum.

For the ones that work the time between them warming up is very little.

My issue is I cannot get heat to the last radiator in kitchen and have intermittent issues with the last on loop upstairs and 2nd last downstairs.

Attached diagram of what I think is our layout and in rads in RED are the problems.

    Question(s) 1 - old rads

Lockshield valve – valve the same at both ends.

    Which one is the lockshield

    Which end do you adjust?

The one with flow going in or the one with flow going out?

Or do you have to adjust both?

    2 rads in the kitchen

When all the rads are off these 2 come on (not the highest heat but ok)

When other rads are introduced back in

    1 is cold (furthest away)

1 only the flow in pipe is warm

    Question 2

Kitchen rads have TRV on them

1 has TRV on the out

1 has TRV on the flow in

Does this matter that they are different?

some pictures of boiler , other towel rail rads in case of any use.

I was told by the gas service engineer that the pressure on boiler was ok..

So apart from my questions above, any advice for me?

Your boiler pressure is low! This won't solve your radiator problems, but it needs attention nonetheless. Set to about 1bar.

as said above you are low on pressure, see my thread below, I had the same issue with 2 or 3 rads not heating - because there was no water in them!!!

thanks for replies, water is flowing through the rads no problem but i do think pressure is issue i have to sort to fix/rule out of the equation.

I haven't seen a picture/video/website that has similar set up to mine where i can re pressurise the boiler.

Any one have any idea on below?
