My bro-in-law has a 2007 Mk 4 Mondeo with the 1.8 TDCi engine.

    It needs an EGR .

Would anyone on here know where might be the best place to purchase a new EGR ?

    Auy suggestions welcome

Winparts are decent for lower prices on good quality parts. Pierburg EGR linked below. I've ordered from them many times, takes them a few days to dispatch but arrives quickly once its sent, usually about a week or so.

Shouldn't be a bad job to do. The EGR on the 1.8 is very accessible at the top of the engine, unlike the 2.0 PITA.

Thank you for that info . The owner was considering buying a SH unit but I pointed out he could have the same problem in a months time.

That's a great price also. Haven't dealt with them before as I get discount from a motor factor.

If the owner wants SH better off just removing the valve on the car, cleaning and re-installing it.

I'd go for motor factors if you can get a good price, otherwise it would be Winparts if you have the time to wait.

As I've said I have ordered plenty from them and never had any issues.

The Valve is also part of the manifold, might be worth considering to go with a remap on this one for a permanent fix.
