Wear the armband or else...

It's causing quite the kerfuffle in the news at the moment the fact that FIFA would not allow certain captains (namely Harry Kane) wear the sacred armband.

I just want to know why it is of such critical importance to the world that certain people should pander to anything?

I remember at work once, this dope brought in a box of rainbow coloured paraphernalia and insisted on everyone putting up their own piece at their desk. I opted out, not because I am anti LGBTQQIP2SAA+, but because I'm a very busy man and like how the workplace is the final frontier against politicization by any group in particular. The place where your gender, sexual orientation, hobbys, marital status, political affiliations are of zero importance and I love it this way.

Needless to say it caused uproar in the office, which served nothing more than to prove my point exactly.

So what? Relax. Don't get them in a twist. It's all easily ignored and is a small dust mite among all the flurry of events in the world.

    1) So as a white male, you haven't noticed any particular biases in the work place? Fascinating.

    2) Do you ever get tired of being such an edgy character that we all need to admire? Such a maverick. Telling truth to power!

Finally someone is sticking up for history's most oppressed person, the straight white male.

One should never forget that lot of people had to fight very, very hard for the workplace to be a place where your gender, sexual orientation, hobbys, marital status, political affiliations are of zero importance.

You can discuss it in the World Cup thread in CA or in the Soccer forum, or possibly in the Work & Jobs forum in you want to explore your workplace anecdote further
