Bungalow built in 2006 - As title says what is the best way to insulate the eaves ? I can feel some rigid insulation coming up to meet the plasterboard ceiling but after a couple of inches it is flush to a brick so I am wondering it that is the 50 mm cavity insulation of something else ?

The space above the insulation needs to be properly ventilated as in 4 roof tile vents, if you block vents in the eves. Typically 300 mm insulation minimum is recommended for attics of a fibreglass type.

Rigid insulation is better than fibreglass but it needs to be no air gaps at endges. Typically you put insulation to the height of rafters one way, then a second layer at right angle. This way any tiny gaps are blocked by second layer that can roll out over rafters. If the eves are left unblocked by insulation then eves vents can ventilate the upper attic to prevent mould in the roof space. You won't get an seai attic insulation grant without vents somewhere for a reason.

More photos of your existing set up would help.

Thanks for that - On the area on the photo with blue lines there is Vertical Rigid Insulation flush to a brick , Is this likely be the cavity insulation or something else ? Does anyone have a drawing details of how eaves were done in Bungalows around 2005/6 ?
